NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti could cost $799, at least 10% cheaper than cancelled RTX 4080 12GB – VideoCardz.com

NVIDIA reportedly puts a new price on RTX 4070 Ti

Multiple sources now claim that the price of RTX 4070 Ti should be at least 10% lower than cancelled RTX 4080 12GB.

NVIDIA has allegedly confirmed the price of RTX 4070 Ti, the upcoming upper high-end RTX 40 desktop GPU that is to come out next week. The card is to cost $799 or 6499 RMB according to multiple reports.

As a reminder, the RTX 4070 Ti is a new name for the RTX 4080 12GB card that was cancelled 2 months ago. NVIDIA is bringing back the same spec’ed GPU but with a different name, and now it seems a new price as well.

According to Wccftech, NVIDIA has informed board partners today that the price of RTX 4070 Ti is $799, a $100 (11%) cheaper than RTX 4080 12GB. The same price is mentioned by Moore’s Law is Dead.

In China, multiple sources such as Expreview or BoardChannels now claim that RTX 4070 Ti is to launch at 6499 RMB, which is 700 RMB cheaper than supposed MSRP for RTX 4080 12GB (or 10% cheaper).

At $799 the RTX 4070 Ti would be twice as cheap as RTX 4090 MSRP (which is hardly seen these days). The RTX 4070 Ti does have half of the memory (12GB GDDR6X) but the CUDA core specs are actually less than half (7680 vs. 16384).

The only problem with RTX 4070 Ti MSRP is that there is no Founders Edition, and as a result finding this card at MSRP will depend on custom model availability. NVIDIA always ‘requests’ that board partners provide at least some non-OC models at MSRP at launch, but typically those cards sell out very fast, meaning that MSRP may be very short lived.

On the other hand, NVIDIA and AICs had an extra 2 months to prepare extra stock, so if these cards do sell out, then there is something very wrong with the supply.
