Acer expected to launch custom AMD Radeon graphics cards – VideoCardz.com

Predator Radeon GPUs could launch in 2023

Acer may soon fully enter the DIY GPU market with their first Radeon GPU.

Acer is reportedly laying the groundwork to fully enter the discrete GPU business with their Predator series. The company has thus far only launched two desktop cards for the DIY (retail) market: the A770 16GB Predator BiFrost and A380 Predator, both based on Intel Arc Alchemist GPUs.

It is reported that Acer’s plans will not stop at Intel. The company has made preparations of their production lines to start making AMD GPUs, however it is not stated which models exactly. Said products are to be released in 2023, but again the original report lacks details when would that happen exactly.

For Acer, who had already been making graphics cards for their prebuilt gaming systems for years, the capturing of DIY market will take time. The GPU market is currently in stagnation and all high-end models are now in stock. It would probably make sense for Acer to wait for mid-range models first, such as the upcoming Radeon RX 7800/7700 series.

Thus far only Gigabyte launched GPUs from all three vendors (AMD, NVIDIA and Intel). Acer is reportedly not interested in NVIDIA GPUs, at least for now.
